Gemma is an experienced care professional who has dedicated over three decades to the care industry, compassionate care-giving and making a significant impact on improving the lives of older generations. Gemma leads our small team with warmth and genuine commitment, fostering a positive and professional culture that motivates staff to be their very best . Gemma’s wealth of experience in Dementia care helps to create a calm, homely environment where residents feel safe and families feel welcomed as partners in care. Her open-door approach means families can always talk through concerns, ask questions, or share a cup of tea. Families often tell us how much they value Gemma’s warm, steady presence and the way she listens and supports through every step of the care journey.






























Canwick House is set in the picturesque village of Canwick, surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens, a vegetable plot and safe, enclosed sensory areas. Inside, you will find warm, characterful spaces filled with soft colours, gentle music and the familiar smell of home-cooked food, a comforting environment where residents can relax, socialise or enjoy quiet moments.

Every Monday becomes, “Make It Monday”, residents bake together, creating everything from classic sponges to charity-fundraiser cakes. It’s sociable, comforting and often very creative.

A growing collection of real stories and audio moments from life in our home, used in staff reflections and interviews to keep our care warm, thoughtful and grounded in real experience. If you’ve not heard one yet, you’re missing out!
Canwick Circle
Aptly named, “Your silence is not welcome” - a quarterly staff-led meet where the staff team sets the agenda, shares ideas and speaks openly while management listens. This meet is proven to foster genuine belonging and community and value for each staff member as Management listen.
Canwick Connects
Beefeaters is the meeting space, where we invite our community to connect! The last Wednesday of each month, we arrange and entertainer and where lunch is served from Beefteaters’ delicious menu whilst we gather for food and good conversation. Let’s eat together. Gemma is available to discuss any questions you may have. 12noon until 2 pm. Do come along!
